Firewall Evaluations
Our objective here is to give home users and
system administrators an opportunity to select a firewall based on it's
design, strength, features and application. NO firewall is
well suited for ALL uses and should be compared in such a way. The rapidly
expanding security market and wide variety of available products make
choosing a protection tool quite a task.
Everyone should remember that just having a
firewall is *NOT* enough, you should at minimum also have an Anti-Virus program. Optionally you should also include
an IDS
(intrusion detection system) to protect you against trojans and portscans which
can be diguised as normal traffic that your firewall would allow to pass.
